Heather Hearts Art + JBohnBishop Mercantile

Our Heather Hearts Art Collab is here!!! 

Last summer, long before JBohnBishop Mercantile was even a thought, J Bohn was struggling with depression. Raising her new puppy, our mascot, Chipper, the Goldendoodle was bringing her so much joy, and so she had it all planned out. She would write a children’s book about Chip. It would be very basic. “Chipper goes to the Coffee House. Chipper takes a boat ride. Chipper watches fireworks.” It would be all SML related and the book, in J Bohn’s little head, would be done and published by Chipper’s first birthday— this Sunday, 4/3! 

But… God had other plans that were far greater than J Bohn EVER imagined. Plans for a Mercantile that would go from two months of pop-ups at local events to two waterfront locations— a showroom & Mercantile within Gills Creek Marina only 5 months after debuting at the Chili Fest. 

Along the way, J Bohn connected with Graphic Designer & Illustrator, Heather Snyder in Martinsville, right out our back door here at SML. Heather is extremely talented in her work and has a special touch that is hard to beat. 

Needless to say, this little collab is the first of many with Heather! Take a moment to scroll through Heather’s incredible work. These postcards are all based off actual pictures that J Bohn took that Heather turned in to what you see, adding in some fun details on each! The overall theme of this set is J Bohn’s roots in Huddleston, VA. 

Postcard sets are available at the marina all summer long! We think they’re fun little souvenirs, keepsakes of vacays on SML, and/or notecards that our local friends can send to their friends out of town.
